Glavin Coating & Refinishing Ltd’s 19,250 sq. ft. building allows for on-site abrasive blasting and coating application. The climate controlled atmosphere of the paint facilities ensures projects are completed with only the highest quality finishing processes obtainable. 3.5 acres of surrounding land provides more than enough space to accommodate many different projects at the same time.

Blasting:
GCR’s on-site blast booth is 70’ long, 22’ wide and 20’ high. It includes a media recycling system for easy reuse of blast media. This efficiency not only is good for the environment, it allows for savings to be passed along to the client. The main media used in our blast booth is Garnet, however, we also utilize the following media:

Preparation Area:
In-floor heating built into the shop floor allows GCR to ensure the material being worked on is kept at a constant temperature throughout the refinish process. With just under 15,000 square feet of shop floor space multiple projects can be in progress at one time and still allow for rush orders to be accommodated. Not only is blasting, masking and painting readily available on-site, but so are MIG welding and Plasma cutting equipment to fabricate equipment needed to complete jobs or to make repairs to client assets.

Paint Application:
A collection of widely used paint products are housed within GCR’s facility to ensure speedy turnaround on projects. Whenever special, specific, products are required, they are purchased directly from the paint manufacturer in order to guarantee meeting strict deadlines.

For fleet refinishing, GCR utilizes Sherwin William’s Genesis line of products. With thousands of industry leading colour and online paint matching capabilities, GCR can mix and/or match almost any colour our clients can imagine. Whenever a client’s fleet paint does not require a high-end paint, PPG Spectracron’s line of primer and paints is a cost effective alternative.

Paint Equipment:
Knowledge and skills are key, but so is having the right equipment at hand. Combined with GCR’s facility, these tools ensure meeting every project requirement. We use all types of spray methods to complete a project depending on the project and finish required. Some to the equipment we utilize is:

Material Handling Capabilities:
Having decades of experience in refinishing large manufacturing and construction equipment means Glavin Coating & Refinishing Ltd. has acquired many types of equipment to produce top quality results in a safe and timely manner. This equipment includes 3 forklifts the range in lifting capacity from 5,000lbs to 16,000lbs. Other hydraulic lifting jacks and stands capable of holding over 40 tons are used to secure projects safely in position when employees work on them. Having the appropriate, and tools, materials at hand is an important factor in making GCR’s facility work efficiently. From 100 foot long “I” Beams to 60 Foot long pedestrian bridges that are 14’ wide and high, we have hoisted, handled and completed all shape and sizes projects.
